Ed Horowitz

With more than 30 years in sales, marketing and business ownership, and over 14 years in franchising experience, Mr. Horowitz provides coaching, mentoring, support and guidance to those interested in pursuing success through franchising.

Prior to joining The Franchise Consulting Company as a franchise consultant, Mr. Horowitz’s responsibilities have included successful experience in high-tech and retail operations, marketing, and sales management, owning and growing a small business, and awarding and supporting franchisees as a Master Franchisee (area developer).

Mr. Horowitz started his career as an account executive, successfully introducing products and services to Global 2000 companies. He developed key accounts in travel companies, banks, communications and industry. As well, Mr. Horowitz started a software support company proving sales, consulting, training, and support to Northwest companies in construction, engineering, and software development industries.

He is a customer-oriented professional with a reputation for service, satisfaction, and results and has the proven ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and assignments simultaneously.

Mr. Horowitz is a creative troubleshooter able to quickly identify and resolve problems and is noted for successfully building new organizations and expanding existing entities. He is respected for establishing and growing business relationships and partnerships and is a solid leader able to build and mentor highly motivated, productive, and loyal teams.

For the past 13 years, Ed has been the Master Franchisor in California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, developing and supporting retail and B2B business models. Since 2004, he has opened and supported 37 stores in these states, exceeding his development schedule.

As the Vice President for Sales and Marketing, Mr. Horowitz has been responsible for evaluating and qualifying prospective franchisees, supporting franchisees through training, opening their store, and supporting the development of sales and business plans to support store growth. His stores’ average revenue has been in the top ¼ of our stores in the U.S. and 40% of his store owners are successful multiple store owners. 

Mr. Horowitz has been a member of a variety of professional organizations, including the MIT Forum Washington Software Association, The Executive Network Seattle (TENS), a Guest Lecturer at the Project Management Institute, and has met the certification requirements of a franchise executive (CFE) through the International Franchise Association, and will receive his certification in February 2018. Mr. Horowitz received both his bachelor’s degree in Society and Justice and master’s degree in Management from the University of Washington.

Mr. Horowitz lives in the Seattle, Washington area with his wife. They have two adult children, one who works as an Account Manager in a large corporation in Seattle and the other in HR at a company in Orlando. He enjoys hiking, biking, fitness, travel, friends and family activities. Having had his own small company for 12 years and being involved in franchising for the last 13 years, franchise consulting provides a way to give back and utilize his experience in helping people take the first step in finding, starting and growing the perfect business for them.
