Jean-Pierre “JP” Bolat is an experienced business leader, entrepreneur, and retired U.S. Naval Officer. During his 20-year Naval career, he served multiple tours of duty around the world, was nominated by the Navy as a Mission Specialist Astronaut candidate to the NASA, and retired in 2007 at the rank of Navy Commander, being awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. With an impressive international resume in cyber security, international business development, artificial intelligence, enterprise software, robotics and more, he has channeled his lifetime of exceptional achievement into new and exciting missions. As founder and CEO of The Bolat Group, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), JP has been delivering high- tech products and services to both public and private sector customers since 2009. 

From April 2018 through May 2022, Bolat led MOVIA Robotics, Inc. as CEO and Board Director tasked with developing the Go-To-Market strategy and transforming the company for growth. MOVIA builds robotic systems and software to enhance learning, social skills, and quality of life for challenged individuals on the autism spectrum. JP was responsible for developing, communicating, executing, and sustaining corporate strategic initiatives, taking the company from concept to market leader in a few short years. 

Previously, JP was a founder and Chief Operating Officer for Track4, Inc., a cyber-security start-up focused on identifying stolen credit cards being sold on the Dark Web. Prior to Track4, JP was the Chief Financial Officer for Sovereign Intelligence, LLC, a cyber security firm focused on providing artificial intelligence analytics to corporations and high net worth individuals. Prior to Sovereign, JP was the Military & International Business Development Manager for Triumph Engine Control Systems, West Hartford, Connecticut. 

From 2007-2009, JP was Senior Director of Business Development, Public Sector, Education & Healthcare, for Oracle Corporation in Tokyo, Japan. He was responsible for developing and managing key aspects of Oracle’s License Business in Japan’s Public Sector with specific emphasis on promoting Oracle’s Thought Leadership with Japan’s Ministry of Defense. 

In addition to his corporate positions, from 2008-2010, JP served as the Co-Chair of the Aerospace & Defense Committee and Vice Chair of the Healthcare IT Subcommittee for the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ). JP also served on the Wallingford, Connecticut Board of Education from 2014-2015 and is a former member of The SPECTRUM Group, one of the premier consulting firms in the Washington, D.C. 

Designated a Naval Flight Officer in 1989, JP logged over 2,000 flight hours in the P-3C Orion as a Mission Commander, Tactical Coordinator, and Navigator/Communicator, and served in multiple campaigns, including the Cold War, the Gulf War, and the Global War on Terror. Born and raised in Wallingford, Connecticut, JP graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1987, earning a Bachelor of Science in English with a minor in French, and receiving his Commission as a Naval Officer. He earned a Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in 1995 and earned his Executive MBA from Temple University’s Fox School of Business in 2008.
