Mick Riddiough - Franchise Consultant

Charlotte, North Carolina
336-575-9585

Mick Riddiough has enjoyed two major careers.

His first one was in health care/pharmaceuticals. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy
degree and Masters of Public Health at the University of California. He taught clinical
pharmacology for 6 years, helped build a clinical pharmacy program at his alma mater,
published articles about the clinical use of drugs, and consulted at the University of
Sydney, AU.

He then was awarded a Congressional Fellowship to work for the Congress evaluating
medical technologies for reimbursement in Medicare and Medicaid. Here he conducted
research on vaccines that led to the Congress adding specific vaccines to Medicare’s
benefit package for the first time in history.

He then “put on his black hat” and went to work for the US pharmaceutical industry,
developing public policies that both the industry and the Congress could share. He also
worked with individual companies, demonstrating the economic value of selected drugs.

In 1984, Mick’s wife built a Decorating Den Systems Interiors (DDSI) franchise.
Observing franchising for the first time, Mick and his wife, Linda, then built a DDSI
master franchise covering North and South Carolina. In this capacity they awarded 33
franchises in 18 months, built the largest master franchise in that company, and sold it
for multiples of their investment. Mick then accepted DDSI’s position of SVP
International Franchise Development and helped the company grow to 1,400 units,
expanding to 45 states, 4 provinces in Canada, and 5 countries overseas.
For the past 35 years, Mick has been consulting with 30 franchise companies, helping
them build their enterprises at the franchise level.

Mick resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife, Linda and two dogs. His daughter and
granddaughters are devoted equestrians, traveling throughout the eastern USA.
