Mike Whitten - Franchise Consultant

Florida

Mike Whitten started his franchising career with Kwik-Kopy Printing, where he was trained in all areas of franchising -- including operations, marketing, new member training, R&D, and franchise sales.

Having built a solid foundation with an intimate knowledge of those various functional areas, Mike went on to become Vice President of Snelling & Snelling, a leading U.S. temporary help firm. He honed his skills with S & S, which enabled him to take advantage of an opportunity with Arby's where he was Director of Franchise Development for the Eastern United States. His role with Arby's, while focused on helping candidates with their decision to purchase a franchise, also included site selection, construction, and facilities design. Mike was among a number of people from Arby's to form the "turnaround" management team responsible for preparing Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits and Church's Chicken for a public offering; Mike held the position of Vice President of Franchise Development. That "turnaround" was successfully accomplished after five years, and the brands have prospered ever since.

He also has franchise development experience, at senior management levels, with a major SE furniture and appliance retailer (Badcock Furniture & More) and with a global leader in the marketing/printing/mail segment (Allegra Marketing*Print*Mail).

Mike's message to you, as a prospective franchise buyer, is simple, and speaks a great deal to his character and expertise:

"I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you as you consider business ownership through franchising. If you are like most franchise candidates with whom I have worked, you have had a long and successful run in corporate America. You have accomplished some very important things in your working career, and now, for whatever reason, it's time to turn the page to a new chapter in your working life. And, perhaps, even the idea of business ownership is completely new to you. Like many others, you may have had thoughts of owning your own business in the past, and now may be an opportune time to take action.

But how do you get started? How do you do your 'due diligence?' How do you develop criteria for determining the right franchise matches? How do you align your skill sets to the demands of different franchise business opportunities? The truth is, this process of 'finding the right franchise to acquire' is really about you! At The Franchise Consulting Company, we take this responsibility to heart. It's our job to help 'peel back the curtain' on the franchise world, and explore how a business may be your vehicle of opportunity into your future. I personally recognize that this is a very important time of transition for you, and I am both gratified and honored to be a contributor at this time in your life."
