Ted Szabo - Franchise Consultant

Ohio

Ted has been a succesful entrepreneur for over thirty years. He received his BA in Accounting from Ohio University and upon graduation headed West where he enjoyed living in San Francisco being “a hippy for a few years hanging out with the Grateful Dead”
However, business beckoned and he put his financial acumen to work in the oil and gas industry. From there he branched out into construction developing a successful industrial silo business that had clients across several states. A fan of vertical integration, he went on to add a trucking company, a real estate investment company and a precast concrete business specializing in highway retaining walls. “if you have driven in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania – you probably drove right past some our concrete walls, just don’t look too long, that causes pile-ups!”

Ted has also owned a 125 employee industrial plant maintenance company specializing in running metal rolling mills and smelting plants across the Mid-West as well as a commercial cleaning business that provides services to many hospitals in a two state area.
Ted brings his many years of pragmatic small business experience and his financial acumen to helping first time entrepreneurs and those looking to diversify their portfolio of businesses. He enjoys coaching, mentoring and “keeping people from stepping in shi_!” He also enjoys drinking vodka and making his adult children’s life a “living hell”. Ted lives in a Civil War era home overlooking the Ohio River with his wife Eve and enjoys restoring classic cars, woodworking and his grandchildren.
